My Top 10 Internet Goals for 2009

Daily Blog Tips is encouraging everyone to answer the question: “What Are Your Internet Goals for 2009?”

I try to avoid putting things like goals and predictions down on e-paper, because I am no fool, and goals and predictions on e-paper can quickly make you look like one if you are a) wrong; b) lazy; or c) often distracted by your crazy young child from your work.

But my better judgement is being trumped by the inner voice of the Internet telling me how powerful public accountability can be in helping you achieve your goals. And in bringing on anxiety attacks about not meeting those goals. (Funny, Zen Habits never mentions that one in their public accountability posts.)

So here they are:

1) I want to complete landing pages for all four of my main websites;

2) I want to install on all four sites a four-part graphic widget that links to the landing page, the best posts, the funniest posts, and the most useful posts;

3) I want to put up a better background on http://picsremix.com (suggestions?);

4) I want to launch 6-7 affiliate products stores in the areas I have selected;

5) I want to develop a backlog of posts so that I can be away from my computer for an evening;

6) I want to launch simple estores on Pics Remix, Custom Registries, and Extra (Hour)dinary Parenting.

7) I want to convert Custom Registries to the Thesis theme.

8) I want to improve the quality of my posts.

9) I want to secure a few guest posts.

10) I want to move away from a 24/7 focus on technical set-up and SEO and more towards on-line client interaction.

Whew. Did you make it through that? If so, kudos to you. It makes me tired just to think about it, much less type it and read it. But there you have it. For all the world to see: what I am trying to make happen in 2009. If you have any ideas, tips, suggestions, or offers of assistance to help these things come about – I’m here and ready to receive them.

What are your Internet goals for 2009? I’d love to hear about them, as I am QUITE sure they will be more interesting than mine.
