This image represents a travel to a location that most individuals will not come close to in their lifetimes. It is a reminder that there are individuals working in the most remote areas, where sand dunes and a camel could be the main focus of one's mind for much of their days. The black-and-white rendition of the image makes it seem a bit bleak.

I had not thought about the black and white as setting the wrong tone
for the picture. That is a great point. It was truly a humorous
situation, and the camel owner and the camel seemed to share in that
mood. Unfortunately, I was shooting real film, and had chosen black
and white film to deliberately get some bleak and vast caravan-esque
desert shots (which I did, but they aren't as much fun as this
picture). Just goes to show you how wonderful digital photography is
- I wish I could colorize this image back to what it was. The camel is
covered in bright fabrics and baubels. Great point! Thanks for making
it.
