For my readers who are interested in the mainstream media vs. new media subject, and especially how bias is effecting the economics of mainstream media, here are three thoughtful pieces for you:
The first article by Michael Yon, examines the last gasps of the mainstream media business model and then urges alternative media to step up now into the void.
Michael Totten has two pieces up that are pure first-hand reporting. The first, on Lebanon, is a must read if for no other reason than the fact that Totten is a real expert on this region, a label that is hard to come by in such a complicated field. The second is a report of recent elections in Azerbaijan.
Finally, Blackfive is a well known site for military news and analysis that is read my many. I have never featured it here because it does not quite fit into my site’s subject matter, but this week they have an independent reporting piece up from one of their… independent reporters. Check them out and see what you think.
