BlogHer is an innovative network of female bloggers who take the idea of a blogging community to the next level. In the blogosphere, there are several sites which allow anyone to list their blog and participate in the blogging community (blogflux is one I particularly like). There are also sites with various levels of editorial review required before a blog can join. Blogged, for instance, lets almost all blogs in, but assigns them a quality score as a means of distinguishing between them. Other sites, such as alltop and 9rules, are quite exclusive and only take the elite of the blogging world.
BlogHer goes beyond this idea of an online community and brings the blogworld into the real world. With conferences throughout the year, an innovative ad program (see the banner on the far right), and other services, the 13,000 women on BlogHer blur the lines between virtual communities and real communities in the best spirit of the Internet. YTP is honored to be a part of it.
