I have never been disappointed in any Apple product before, but I have to admit that the rollout of Mobile Me and of the iPhone 2.0 software almost brought me to that emotion. My iPhone was bricked for about two hours since I started the upload shortly before Apple’s servers went down. Fortunately, I had backed up the phone before starting, so nothing was lost. As for Mobile Me, it is a great interface and a necessary upgrade in the integration of Apple’s web services with their software (the innovations in iLife 08 and other programs had far surpassed the capabilities of mac.com to handle it all).
I have to admit, I don’t like the idea of me.com as much as mac.com. It feels selfish and strange somehow. I am hoping that as time passes, and the bugs get worked out, me.com will grow on… me.
